WILMINGTON, Del. (AP) – Just hours after a nationally televised showdown, Democrat Chris Coons and Republican Christine O’Donnell were back at it again, meeting in their second debate of Delaware’s U.S. Senate campaign.

In a Rotary Club debate Thursday, the two candidates reiterated many of the comments they made the night before in a nationally televised debate at the University of Delaware.
Both agreed that the federal deficit is a huge problem, but neither offered specific ideas for cuts in the government’s three major spending programs: Social Security, Medicare and defense.

Asked what qualities they admire most in the opposing candidate, Coons mentioned O’Donnell’s persistence and passion for conservative causes. O’Donnell said she respects Coons’ ability to debate and thoughtfully answer questions.
